Born in Calcutta, India, in 1996, Ghosh graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology with special accolades. He was amongst the first designers ever invited to showcase his graduation collection at TOOLBOX 2019, earning praise from both the press and media.

Since childhood, he was very inquisitive and drawn to art. Besides school he pursued an eight-year diploma in Fine Arts and was deeply influenced by his mother's embroidery work, which she excels at. This strong artistic upbringing shaped his design sensibilities, deeply rooted in his cultural heritage. His creative vision centers on creating "new out of old" — designs that bridge timeless Indian heritage with modern technology.

After working with several houses and collaborating with several brands, Ghosh started his own accessories label, SAURAV GHOSH, in 2021 from a small design studio situated in the suburbs of Calcutta. Through his work, he aims to share Indian stories with the world and pay tribute to the rich legacy of Indian art and craft.
